I purposely did not assign levels of difficulty, because everyone is different.  The beauty of doing classes online is that you're in complete control.  If there's a pose you don't like, substitute another pose or take a rest.  If there is a class that's not for you, press stop and try another!

Tips for your yoga practice and a quick tour of the online studio.

Yoga is a widely accepted treatment option for IBS.  Find out why!

Yoga for Digestion

Try these classes if your digestion is feeling pretty good and you would like to keep it that way, or if you are experiencing mild to moderate constipation or diarrhea.  They feature traditional poses for digestion that twist, stretch and compress the belly.  These movements massage and release tension in the abdomen and aid in circulation.

If your IBS symptoms are more severe, scroll down for classes specifically designed for your condition.

Yoga for Constipation

Yoga classes for digestion usually focus on moving things through the system, but if you are feeling very constipated they may feel like too much. These classes focus mainly on traditional poses for digestion, but they are a bit more gentle and move a little slower.

I have included the Wall Series, which are restorative classes with mild inversions.  This might seem counter intuitive when you want things to move down and out, but things have to go up in the ascending colon first.  Inversions are thought allow the stool moving through the ascending colon to move with the force of gravity.  Restorative sequences can also help to calm the nervous system.

Yoga for Diarrhea

If you are suffering through a bad bout of diarrhea, give these classes a try.  Inversions are believed to promote consistency, ease and regularity of bowel movements.  Restorative sequences can help to calm the nervous system.

These informal 1 hour classes are not specifically designed for improving digestion or relieving symptoms of IBS, but they do include a lot of the elements from the previous videos and a focus on breathing and relaxation.
